Self-esteem is a concept

we often hear we 'should' possess, but we're rarely taught how to cultivate it.

While we understand the importance of thinking positively about ourselves, feeling genuinely good about who we are doesn't always happen on its own.

We're taught that being overly self-assured can be negative, but we're seldom told about the significant difference between being conceited and having a healthy, confident self-image.

Does this sound familiar?

  • Frequently criticize yourself, either in your thoughts or when talking to others?

  • Struggle to recognize your positive qualities and achievements?

  • Feel uncomfortable when someone compliments you?

  • Find it uneasy to be in the spotlight?

  • Often worry about what others might think of you?

  • Make decisions based on what you believe others will think?

  • Frequently feel like you don't deserve good things?

  • Have a persistent feeling of not being 'good enough'?

  • Downplay your own ideas and opinions?

  • Spend a lot of time dwelling on your perceived weaknesses or flaws?

  • Let the fear of failure hinder you from pursuing your dreams?

Many individuals have a

habit of thinking negatively about themselves, and it's like a recurring script in their minds.

This script might say things like, 'You're not good enough,' 'No one would want to be in a relationship with you,' or 'You don't deserve good things.' These are just a few examples of the statements people repeatedly tell themselves, which erode their self-worth.

These words become so deeply rooted in one's thinking that it can be incredibly challenging to change this thought pattern. These thoughts act as barriers to leading a healthy, satisfying life by limiting one's capacity for genuine joy and happiness. It's essential to remember that our thoughts shape our actions, and we often act in line with what we believe about ourselves.
